EVALUATIONS

Evaluations for speech, language, and/or cognitive disorders can be conducted in the office or in your home. North Shore Center for Speech, Language & Swallowing Disorders is both adult and child friendly. We utilize the latest in diagnostic tools and materials. A combination of standardized testing, clinical testing, and clinical observation will be conducted. After an initial evaluation, a report will be sent to the client’s primary care physician. The clinicians at NSC provide ongoing communication and updated progress reports to each referring physician.

Once a diagnosis is made an individualized treatment plan is developed. We encourage family/caregiver involvement and welcome observation of therapy sessions via our one-way window/mirror in each treatment room. For our pediatric population parent/caregiver participation is encouraged in order to facilitate success. Therapy is provided 1-5 times per week for 30, 45 or 60 minute sessions, depending on each client's needs.
